"Jaffa Cake" 4 CEP No. 1548 is seen departing towards Dover Priory with a Victoria service, and will likely join to another unit from Ramsgate after arrival at Faversham. © David Glasspool Collection
The signal box eventually became isolated from the station, as shown in this southward view, after the lifting of two tracks which once ran along the quay on the station's north eastern side. Their removal also meant that trains from the Dover Priory direction no longer had direct access to Platform 3. A road was subsequently laid between the signal box and station approaches, as seen here, to give lorries access to the train ferry berth. © David Glasspool Collection
Nearing the end: at the time of this photograph, there was just one train per hour. The trainshed framework still looked resplendent in Network SouthEast colours, but the track had been used as a dumping ground for litter. © Roger Goodrum
